What Determines the Cost of Renting a Limo for Prom?

With prom season approaching, you may wonder what it will cost to rent a limo for you and your friends. The prices may vary drastically because of certain factors, such as the type of vehicle, total number of passengers and the company’s current level of demand. It is important to consider each of these factors when looking for a Prom Limousine Service in Long Island to find the best deal for your needs and money.

Time of the Rental

Renting a limo over the weekend, which is usually when prom takes place, will be more expensive due to there being a higher level of demand. This is a factor that will not change and that will apply to any limo service you consider using. Additionally, since it will be prom season, chances are a large number of other people will also be looking to rent a limo on the same night. It is a good idea to reserve your limo in advance to secure your rental. Keep in mind, the service will likely have a minimum rental time period that typically ranges between five and six hours. This means even if you only use the limo for two or three hours, you will have to pay for the entire minimum amount of time.

The Type of Limo

This factor can impact the cost of the rental significantly. For example, renting a Hummer limo will be more expensive than a traditional stretch limo. When renting a limo will have to pay gratuity in addition to the rental fee, which should be figured into the final price so you know the total you will be spending. If you are planning to go to prom with a large group of friends, it may make more sense to reserve a party bus, since there will be space for everyone and the price can be divided among all of you making it a more economical option.

Number of Passengers and Distance You will Travel

If you have plans to travel far, or need to pick up people at individual locations, you may have to pay extra for gas and mileage. Additionally, the cost for person may change if you increase or decrease the number after you have already reserved a limo. Be careful about overfilling a limo, as well, since a 10 person limo will typically fit 10 average sized people sitting close together. You may want to subtract a few if you want additional space for each passenger.

If your prom is approaching and you want to arrive by limo, calling early to make a reservation is essential. You should also consider the total number of passengers that will be going and the overall cost, which will help you select the right limo for your big night.
